at the age of 13, I started to learn folk Guitar...
As an autodidacte guitarist, I'm familiar with (folk & classical) acoustic guitars (my very first love), but also with electric guitars(especially Gibson Les Paul Guitars). When playing folk guitar, I love finger picking techniques like the one you can hear with , Marcel DADI, Chet Atkins and many others picking masters. I also learned some classical guitar pieces just for fun, I'm a fan of Heitor Villa-Lobos. Then I focused on Electric guitar playing. I started with a squier stratocaster model, and I used to play with it some pop & funk & rock songs. Then I bought a Gibson Les Paul and discovered what the word "sustain" meant !! Presently, I am very attracted with Metal, Funk & Jazz music. More precisely, I try to develop some nice rythm guitar techniques with funk and jazz music, solos techniques with metal music.
Some of my preferred electric guitar players, bands and discography:
· Eddy Van Halen(my Beloved Guitar Hero!!!) ,Steve Vai / Joe Satriani, Greg Howe, Gary Moore
· Pat Metheny, John Scofield, George Benson
Some of my preferred Bands & albums:
· Van Halen (Van Halen I , 1984) : Well that's a rock myth , EVH is the most complete rock guitarist I've ever heard.
· Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magic, Californication) : I love this percussive band that sounds 'as one' and especially FLEA, the bassist and composer...
· Steve Vai (Passion & Warfare, Fire Garden) : this guy is just brilliant : not only a legato/tapping master but also a pick master as well ...
· the Pat Metheny Group (Bright Size Life, Watercolors) : peaceful and beautiful...
· John Scofield (Still Warm) : For those who like to be really surprised : just listen to 'Protocol' in "Still Warm"...
· Gary Moore (Still Got The Blues)
· The Rolling Stones (almost all albums!)
· The Beatles (nothing bad in their discography! yes, I like them AND the stones as well..)
